Please indicate if you have applied for or have been accepted to any of the following special programs. If interested in different programs, we encourage you to apply to others; however, due to the nature of these programs, students may not be able to participate in both PULSE and other programs listed. If accepted to more than one, you will need to make a choice. (There may be exceptions.)

If you answer yes, due to the number of credits you will have already earned, participating in the PULSE Learning Community may not be your best option. Please feel free to contact the PULSE Coordinator, Jemilia Harrison, via email at harrisonj@uncw.edu or call at 910-962-3845 to discuss this further.

Below you will find room to enter information about college credit you have already earned (or may earn before the fall). Enter all AP/IB tests you have taken or will take this year as well as classes you have taken through other colleges or community colleges. It is very important that you list all information. We do not want to enroll students in classes they already have credit for through one of these avenues. Please write "none" in the space provided next to "Not Applicable" if you this section does not apply to you.

The PULSE Learning Community is designed specifically for students who plan to pursue a career and graduate program in the health professions. The linked First-Year Seminar course (UNI 101) is a required University Studies course designed to assist first-year students with their transition into the university community and specifically assist students in beginning their journey to a health profession on an informed note. The seminar’s objective is to expose students to admission requirements for medical and graduate schools and build leadership competencies through clinical site visits, intentional interactions with current health professionals, and reflection on their holistic development during their first semester. Please tell us how this may positively influence your first-year experience here at UNCW and why you have chosen to pursue a career in health. (150 words maximum)
