Please check if you have applied to or been accepted to any of the following special programs . If interested in different programs, we encourage you to apply to others but know that due to the nature of these programs, students can not participate in both Cornerstone and one of these other fine programs. If accepted to more than one, you will need to make a choice. (There may be exceptions with athletics if schedule allows.)

If you answer yes, due to the number of credits you will have already earned, participating in a Cornerstone Learning Community may not be your best option. You may wish to look at the other options housing has for you. Please feel free to contact the coordinator of Cornerstone, Maggie Bannon at or call at 910-962-7200 to discuss this further.

Below you will find room to enter information about college credit you have already earned (or may earn before the fall) : AP/IB tests you have taken or will take this year as well as classes you have taken though other colleges or community colleges. It is very important that you list all information that may apply to you because this will help when selecting a learning community for the fall. We do not want to enroll students in classes they already have credit for through one of these avenues.

Studies have shown that having learning opportunities outside of the classroom setting, often referred to as experiential education, help increase a student's understanding and appreciation of the subject matter. This is an important part of the Cornerstone Learning Communities. Please tell us how this type of educational practice might influence your first year experience here at UNCW.   By completing this application to the Cornerstone Learning Communities (CLC) program, I am indicating an awareness that I will, after being provisionally accepted, select four possible CLCs that I would be interested in taking. I realize that being in a CLC entails taking three integrated courses and that living in Cornerstone is an important part of the experience. I affirm my commitment to be a constructive member of both the academic and residence life components of the CLC program.
